25 students from Ephesus Elementary wanted to attend day camp at the Chapel Hill Rec Center and we were able to help them all. Most of them participated with volunteers in a clean-up project at their school.

Backpack buddy

Participated in tae kwon do classes and assisted with handing out weekend backpacks filled with food for kids at his school.

Over 50 Kids Funded This School Year

The SKJAJA Fund funded more than 50 kids during the 2010-11 school year. Over $10,000 was given to local children to participate in various activities. The majority of the funding was used towards summer activities and camps. There were various pay it forward projects planned from the Community Service Day at Ephesus Elementary to one student collecting grocery gift cards for the schools’ family specialists to give away throughout the year.

Helps to plant flower garden

Studied abroad and lived with a Belgium family for a month to help improve her French. Helped a first grade class plant a flower garden at their school.

Future Business Leaders of America

Attended the FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) conference in California. Volunteered at the Duke Health Services with Community.

First Two Recipients

Our first two recipients participated in Girls on the Run after school program. Cleaned school grounds and planted flowers at their school.
