Since 2008, SKJAJA has:

• Provided over $150,000 in scholarships for over 1,000 students from historically marginalized communities in Chapel Hill-Carrboro for extracurricular and after-school enrichment activities.

• Ignited the spark of over 1,000 students grades K-12 through access to enrichment programs and service-learning projects, contributing to student agency and to the closing of the opportunity gap.

• Provided musical instruments to 100s of students for orchestra and band programs throughout Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools. 

• Facilitated hundreds of hours of transformative service learning projects for SKJAJA students, partnering with numerous local organizations on shared service experiences in the community. 

• Collaborated with students, families, school teachers and administrators, businesses, organizations, volunteers and community leaders to build a stronger Chapel Hill-Carrboro.
