PROGRAMS AND COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER
Part-time (approximately 20 hours per week)

The SKJAJA Fund is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization in Chapel Hill-Carrboro,
NC, whose mission is to provide local students in grades K-12 with the resources
and the opportunity to participate in extracurricular activities, both in school and
in the community. We acknowledge, respect, and work to foster the dignity of all

The SKJAJA Fund is hiring a part-time Program and Communications Manager
to manage external communications and scholarship applications, work with our
board committees, and assist with the execution of our In-School Field Trips and
other programs to bring extracurricular opportunities directly to students.
Responsibilities:

Connect with families, community partners, donors, and the general public,
through direct contact as well as social media and email newsletters. -
Oversee the applications process, working with teachers and social
workers to identify potential applicants, communicating with the individuals
and families who apply, forging relationships with partner organizations,
and allocating funds and resources with the assistance of our board’s
Applications committee. -
Work with our board members on fundraising efforts, grant-writing
proposals, and program development. -
Assist our community partners as they provide In-School Field Trips for
schools in the Chapel Hill-Carrboro and Orange County districts. -
There will also be some light bookkeeping involved, in coordination with
our board chair and treasurer.
Qualifications:

Strong written and verbal communication skills. (Fluency in Spanish is
strongly encouraged!) -
Self-motivation and strong time management skills.

Proficiency in technology, especially programs often used in the non-profit
sector. Experience with MS Office, Google Docs, mail merging, Flipcause,
Adobe Acrobat, Canva, GuideStar, QuickBooks, and Wix are all a plus. -
Experience with social media is strongly preferred.

Familiarity with the Chapel Hill-Carrboro community is encouraged,
including the Chapel Hill-Carrboro and Orange County school districts. -
Familiarity with graphic design is also encouraged.

Experience cultivating relationships with donors, including grant writing, is
a plus.
Hours and Wages:
The Programs and Communications Manager will work approximately 20 hours
per week, with a salary of $25.00 per hour.
